Woodhaven exists because of the generous gifts from our supporters. Donations help to make sure that every person we serve has access to dedicated support staff, safe and comfortable homes, and the equipment needed to find success. Beyond that, donations also mean we are able to retain valued staff that are the lifeline of what we do each and every day.
There are many ways people can get involved with donating, but one way we are very excited about is the Van Taylor Society.
The Van Taylor Society is Woodhaven’s Monthly Giving Society — a society designed to celebrate those who help sustain our organization and make the mission and vision of Woodhaven possible through monthly gifts of any amount. Those that donate through the Van Taylor Society are not just monthly supporters, they are a part of our family. Together we work as a team to advocate for inclusion, make room for new opportunities and always seek to promote and empower a person’s strengths.
Who Is Van Taylor?
Van Taylor was one of the first students enrolled at Woodhaven in 1964 and was served by Woodhaven until 2019. For 55 years, Van Taylor was a light to everyone he met and it is our goal to celebrate his legacy through the Van Taylor Society.
Your Monthly Giving In Action
What do your donations look like in action? There are four different dollar amount options, in addition for the ability to choose your own amount, when signing up for the Van Taylor Society:
- $10/ month ($120/ year) — this donation could help cover the cost of one additional dental cleaning for one person a year, something many couldn’t afford otherwise.
- $25/ month ($300/ year) — this donation could help cover the costs of new work clothes, allowing individuals to start new jobs with confidence.
- $50/ month ($600/ year) — this donation could ensure that every person we serve is in good health and has a chance to be seen by a community nurse each month.
- $100/ month ($1200/ year) — this donation could help better equip students in our Community Employment Services program with the tools they need to pursue a career in the tech field.
- Custom Amount – choose any dollar amount to donate on a monthly basis.
