It’s time to introduce you to a student who exemplifies the EnCircle spirit through his love of learning, dedication to self-growth, positivity, and community spirit. Please meet EnCircle’s Outstanding Student of the Summer Semester…Cameron Sivret!
Cameron enrolled in our Self-Defense class this summer. He arrived early to every class–can you say PERFECT attendance–eager to learn. He used this extra time to talk with his instructor Richard, practice his self-defense techniques, and assist with class set-up as needed. Cameron exuded positivity and supported his classmates by acknowledging their improvement, offering encouragement, and cheering them on.
Cameron eagerly practiced his strikes, blocks, and kicks before, during, and after class. His techniques improved and his confidence in his abilities increased. Cameron ended each class by offering more encouragement to his classmates and giving a bow and a thank you to his instructor. Cameron’s enthusiasm, kindness, and self-defense skills are certainly outstanding!
EnCircle is fortunate to have Cameron as a part of our community. Get in your self-defense stance and get ready to learn about outstanding student Cameron Sivret, in his own words:
What are your hobbies and how did you get into them?
They are, in order, painting, video games, animation, and history. I’ve always had a hereditary interest in art from my father’s side of the family so painting is something I’ve done with my grandmother as well as in high school. I’ve also played video games since I was a kid. I used to think cartoons were for kids but later realized after watching some shows that are for and not for kids, it’s not true. As for history, let’s say I got the interest from a video game back in 2010, a particular one would be Assassin’s Creed II.
If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If it’s my favorite, Chicken Alfredo would be the one. If it’s anything it would be Beef and Broccoli.
Do you have a job? What do you like best about it?
Yes, Gumby’s Pizza. Despite the difficulties, I would say that driving and being friends with co-workers is good.
Tell us about a memorable EnCircle experience.
I’m not sure what would be the most (memorable), but my last class, Self-Defense allowed me to be active and made me feel alive like I was in Martial Arts.
What’s the last thing you read?
If it’s a book, it would be the graphic novel version of Odyssey. Another book I’ve last read involved chakras.
What’s something we would never guess about you?
I’m sophisticated and mostly serious, but I can be fun.
If you could paint a picture of any scenery you’ve seen before, what would you paint?
An animal crossing a road like a peacock or a fox.
Where do you most want to visit in the world?
Japan. I would love to see torii gates or other landmarks, and the food.
What motivates you to work hard?
Trying to finish the job I’m tasked to do. But if it’s something personal like an event that frustrates me and I write it down in a book, or if I try to draw a character it would be something inspiring in the future.
What do you like best about EnCircle?
That I’m not the only individual with autism that is willing to learn.
What are some of your dreams for your future?
I would be an animator, making shows out of my imagination or adapted from video game franchises I like. Sometimes I would teach or show someone what I know to help them succeed in what they want.
Anything else that you would like to share about yourself?
I have dislikes, like clowns and circuses (lol). I have likes such as animals (but no bugs except for butterflies, bees, and moths) and cooking.
