Each month, Woodhaven likes to highlight one staff member or supported individuals that exemplifies the Woodhaven Mission. Our mission at Woodhaven is to be a caring team advocating for those with disabilities by enhancing lives, respecting individuality, providing quality opportunities for choice and promoting community membership. We are excited to introduce you to this month’s individual: Jessica!
Jessica and Woodhaven
Jessica is a really cool lady. She enjoys the Woodhaven Day Program because she gets to be with her friends and make crafts. One of her favorite projects is making slime. Every week she leaves early to go with her mom for a bongo jam session where she has gotten really good at playing the bongo drums.
Jessica’s Favorite Things
Jessica loves music and dancing about as much as she loves Red Lobster – which is A LOT! In addition to her cravings for crustaceans, Jessica also enjoys fresh veggies from her mom’s garden. Her favorite color is blue and she prefers dogs to cats (but likes them both).
Some of the most notable things about our friend Jessica, is that she is very empathetic. She cares about her friends and those around her and she feels their pain when they are hurting and their joy when they are happy. Jessica is super appreciative when someone does something nice for her and she makes sure that person knows how special it was to her. She is such a positive light to be around and is sure to brighten anyone’s day!
