Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) Tax Credit Opportunity

Woodhaven now offers NAP tax credits!

Missouri’s Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) allows its residents to determine how their state tax dollars will be spent through their charitable donations. Woodhaven is approved to offer $150,000 in NAP tax credits to qualified donors and sponsors who support our programs and events, which advance our work with neurodivergent youth and adult individuals with disabilities in education, employment and training. As a Woodhaven donor, you qualify to apply for and if approved, receive a tax credit equaling 50% of your gift. This credit combines with your federal and state charitable income tax deduction to lower the net cost of your donation. We encourage you to take advantage of these tax credits now. With a limited amount of tax credits to be claimed, they will go fast!

“We are so excited to announce Woodhaven was recently awarded the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP) tax credits from the Missouri Department Economic Development. The NAP program will enhance our work with neurodivergent youth and adult individuals with disabilities in education, employment and training. We are so grateful to MO DED for giving us this amazing budget-based opportunity to credit 50% back to our qualified donors and sponsors!”

Who is eligible to receive the NAP tax credit?

The Missouri Neighborhood Assistance Act makes the NAP credit available to any person, firm or corporation with business income in the State of Missouri. Besides corporations, this includes financial institutions, insurance companies, express companies, partnerships and their individual partners, small business corporations (s-corporations) and their individual shareholders, limited liability companies and their individual members, and individuals who either own or operate their own business, own and operate a farm in Missouri, or receive income from royalties or rental property in Missouri.

How would I qualify to claim the NAP Credit?

  • To qualify for the credit, a business must make an eligible contribution to an approved Neighborhood Assistance project in the State of Missouri (Woodhaven Learning Center, Federal Tax Id 43-0782204). Obtain a current Tax Credit Application from Woodhaven. Complete the application and submit the original to Woodhaven Learning Center.
  • Please read all instructions on the back of the application. Attach the necessary proof of contribution, then sign and notarize the application before sending it to Woodhaven Learning Center, Attn: DeAnna Alonso, Chief Development Officer, 1405 Hathman Pl., Columbia MO 65201.
  • Woodhaven will review the application, verify the contribution was received, sign it, and forward it to the Missouri Dept. of Economic Development (DED) for processing.
  • DED will review the application and notify the donor in writing of the amount of credit allowed. The Department of Revenue will also be notified. Please allow at least 2-3 weeks for processing an application. All credits are rounded down to the next lowest dollar amount.

PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT CLAIM THE CREDIT ON YOUR TAX RETURN UNTIL YOU HAVE RECEIVED OFFICIAL NOTIFICATION OF CREDIT APPROVAL.
The notification from DED consists of a tax credit certificate for eligibility of credit.
